Katie Freund

Katie Freund, CPA, has extensive work experience in the field of internal audit and advisory services. Katie is currently serving as the Vice President Internal Audit at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey since August 2021. Prior to this, Katie held the position of Vice President, Internal Audit and Quality at The Health Plan (THP) from December 2018 to August 2021. Katie also worked as the Director, Internal Audit at THP from July 2016 to December 2018. Before joining THP, Katie served as the Director, Audit & Advisory Services at Highmark from December 2013 to July 2016. Katie started their career at Ernst & Young, where they held various roles including Audit Senior Manager from October 2010 to December 2013, Audit Manager from October 2007 to October 2010, Audit Senior from October 2004 to October 2007, and Audit Staff from May 2002 to October 2004. With their diverse experience, Katie brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their role as a CPA.

Katie Freund, CPA completed their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a concentration in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh. Katie attended the university from 1997 to 2002. Later, Katie pursued a Master's degree in Accountancy from the University of Virginia from 2002 to 2003.
