Qiang Liu

Qiang Liu is an accomplished engineering manager and applied scientist at Horizon Robotics since April 2019, specializing in computer vision and deep learning algorithms for autonomous driving applications. Prior experience includes serving as principal scientist at Midea America Corp, where AI technology was integrated into smart kitchen appliances, and as a senior research scientist at Amazon Lab126, where significant contributions were made to algorithm design for image segmentation and object localization. Previous roles also include senior algorithm developer at AuthenTec, focusing on image processing for fingerprint sensing, and research associate at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, working on 3D imaging for neurosurgery. Qiang Liu holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and multiple degrees in telecommunications and electrical engineering from Xidian University. Additionally, active participation as an ad hoc reviewer for several scientific journals has been maintained since 2005.
