Deanna Makin-Dwyer has a diverse and extensive work experience in marketing and communications. Deanna has served as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Horizons for Homeless Children, where they focused on donor-centric communications and successfully navigated virtual and hybrid events. Deanna also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Boston Baptist College, sharing their knowledge and experience in marketing and communications with undergraduate students. Prior to that, they were the Director of Marketing at Franciscan Children's, where they led a small team and handled various marketing and communications tactics across multiple channels. Deanna also served as the Chief Marketing Officer at The Wellesley Wine Press, providing consulting services and sharing insights on wines. Deanna started their career at IBM, where they held various roles including Customer Reference Program Manager, Marketing Program Manager, and Technical Writer. In these roles, they worked on co-marketing initiatives, content development, new product launches, and media relations.
Deanna Makin-Dwyer pursued their education by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Public Relations from Marist College between 1995 and 1998. Subsequently, they enrolled in the Bentley University - McCallum Graduate School of Business, where they pursued their Master of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Marketing from 2002 to 2004.
