Virginia (Ginger) Marshall has an extensive work experience in the field of hospice and palliative care. Virginia (Ginger) currently serves as the CEO of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA), where they provide visionary executive leadership and oversees the operations of the enterprise-wide organizations. Prior to this, they worked as the Principal and Manager at Palliative Care Consultants, LLC, where they offered expertise in establishing and strengthening palliative care programs. Virginia (Ginger) has also held the position of Senior Vice President of Palliative Care at Compassus, where they initiated and managed multiple palliative care programs. In addition, they worked at Carolinas Healthcare System as the Director of Inpatient Palliative Care Services, where they successfully transitioned several inpatient programs to an employed model and implemented various educational and orientation programs. Earlier in their career, they played a significant role in establishing the University of Utah Palliative Care Service and worked at Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region in their Palliative Care Service. Virginia (Ginger) Marshall completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse at the University of Maryland Global Campus from 1980 to 1982. Virginia (Ginger) then pursued a Master's degree in Nursing Science at the University of Pennsylvania, completing it from 1997 to 1998. In addition to their degrees, they obtained certification as an Advanced Certified Hospice Palliative Nurse from the Hospice Palliative Credentialing Center in 2005.
