Karen Villamizar

Karen Villamizar, SHRM-CP has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Karen is currently working as an HR Business Partner at Hotwire Communications Ltd. Prior to that, they worked as a Human Resources/Community Chair CLC at Caterpillar Inc., where they provided various HR services and functions, as well as served as the Community Chair for the CLC local chapter. Karen also worked as a Human Resources liaison at Global Eagle, where they provided support to the People Services function and other departments. Karen gained experience as a Human Resources Generalist at World Fuel Services, and as a Human Resources Assistant at Panalpina, where they were responsible for HRIS system updates and the new hire process. Lastly, Karen worked at Social Service Coordinators as an MSP Intake Team Lead, where they recruited, trained, and supervised a team of customer service advocates.

Karen Villamizar, SHRM-CP, obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from Florida International University, where they studied from 2013 to 2016. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in May 2021. Karen also achieved the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designation from SHRM in February 2022, and completed LinkedIn's The Human Resources Hero program in April 2023.
