Sami Nurmio

Sami Nurmio is an accomplished Executive Producer currently at Housemarque since September 2020, focusing on the title "Returnal." As a Principal Consultant for Definitely Games since November 2019, Sami provides a variety of consulting services to game studios and publishers, including creative consulting and organizational restructuring. Previously, as Head of New Projects and Executive Producer at Next Games from October 2014 to March 2019, Sami was instrumental in launching the company’s first game and expanding the development team significantly while overseeing successful GaaS titles that generated over $100 million in revenue. Sami's experience also includes leadership roles at Remedy Entertainment Plc and Bugbear Entertainment Ltd, contributing to the establishment of teams and managing business development. Early career achievements involved producing mobile games while at Nokia and pioneering innovations in the mobile gaming sector. Sami has a lengthy educational background spanning multiple universities, including the University of Oulu and KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
