Tahir Idris

Tahir Idris has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Tahir has held various roles in different companies. Currently, they are working as the Respect & Inclusion Lead at Housing 21 since August 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Non Executive Director at Wythenshawe Community Housing Group from July 2020. From 2017 to August 2023, they worked as the Equality & Diversity Lead at Together Housing Group. Tahir also has experience as a Self Employed Telecare Consultant at Telemagenta from August 2014 to April 2017. Additionally, they worked as a Housing Services Lead at The Regenda Group from August 2013 to July 2014 and as an Operations Manager (Mat cover) at Your Housing Group from January 2013 to July 2013. Tahir's earlier work experience includes serving as a Project Lead - Assistive Technology at Places for People from January 2006 to March 2012. Their earliest and longest-held position was as the Director of Operations at Ashiana Housing Association, where they started in September 1991 and continued until December 2005. In this role, Tahir successfully established East Lancashire's first Minority Community Housing Association, managed a substantial budget, negotiated development and management agreements, developed partnerships, and contributed to improving community cohesion through innovative techniques.

Tahir Idris attended Billinge High School from 1978 to 1983. Tahir then pursued A Levels at Blackburn College in the UK for two years, from 1983 to 1985. Later, they enrolled at The University of Salford and completed their Chartered Institute of Housing Professional Qualification in Housing from 1989 to 1993.
