Alison Sawers

Alison Sawers is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in project finance, commercial transactions, and banking law. Currently serving as General Counsel, Commercial at Housing Australia since January 2022, Alison has held various roles within the organization, including Principal Counsel, Transactions, and Deputy General Counsel, Commercial. Prior to Housing Australia, Alison worked as Director at the Infrastructure and Project Financing Agency and as Senior Associate at Ashurst, specializing in project financing across Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Additional experience includes serving as Senior Lawyer for Global Transactional Banking at Deutsche Bank in Berlin, Senior Associate at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, and Associate at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, where Alison focused on cross-border finance deals in Southeast Asia. Alison holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney, as well as a Certificate in Art Direction and Fashion Editorial from Paris College of Art.
