Hugh Hartigan

Hugh Hartigan is an accomplished economist with extensive experience in public policy development and economic advisory roles. Currently serving as the Head of Research, Data and Analytics at Housing Australia since September 2019, Hugh previously held the position of Principal Economic Advisor to the Shadow Treasurer from November 2013 to July 2019, where responsibilities included advising on macroeconomic developments and public policy issues. Prior experience also includes advising the Commonwealth Trade Minister on economic matters and serving as an Executive Level Policy Analyst at the Commonwealth Treasury. Hugh’s educational background consists of a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) from Macquarie University and a Diploma in Modern Languages from the University of New England, specializing in Bahasa Indonesian.
