Gareth Stiven

Gareth Stiven is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in strategic management and economic development. Since January 2017, Gareth has served as the General Manager of Strategy at Housing New Zealand Corporation, while also maintaining a role as Managing Director in a self-employed capacity since January 2016. Previously, Gareth was a Director in the Finance and Economics team at PwC from October 2010 to January 2016, where responsibilities included leading significant business cases and collaborating with councils on policy development and financial analysis. Prior to that, Gareth held senior leadership positions at Auckland City Council, overseeing economic strategy and a budget of approximately $12 million, and also worked as a Policy Analyst for New South Wales Treasury. Gareth's career began in risk analysis with ABN AMRO Bank N.V. and the Bank of New Zealand. Educational credentials include a Master of Commerce in Economics from the University of Canterbury.
