Marlene McNeese

Marlene McNeese is an experienced health professional currently serving as Co-Chair for the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS since August 2021. With a long tenure at the Houston Health Department starting in May 2004, Marlene has held various leadership roles, including Deputy Assistant Director overseeing HIV/STI and Viral Hepatitis prevention programs, and Assistant Director managing a substantial annual operating budget and supervising a large staff across multiple facilities. Additional positions include Bureau Chief for the Bureau of HIV/STD and Viral Hepatitis Prevention and Administration Manager for HIV prevention initiatives. Prior experience includes roles as Program Manager at People In Partnership and Project Director at New Directions Club, Inc., where Marlene contributed to the development of programs for low-income families and individuals with health challenges. Marlene holds a Master of Business Administration degree focused on Women in Leadership from Texas Woman's University.
