Mia White

Mia White is a development writer at Houston Zoo since October 2022, following a role as Communications and Development Director at Houston Community ToolBank from November 2017 to October 2022, where oversight of social media and community engagement was key. Earlier experience includes serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA Development Coordinator at the same organization, a freelance writer for Whitebox Inc., and co-founding Sounding Sea Writers' Workshop. Additional roles include librarian at BCPL, circulation assistant at Langsdale Library, writing consultant at University of Baltimore, and museum educator at both Jewish Museum of Maryland and USS Constellation. Mia White holds a degree in English Literature and Art History from University of St Andrews and a Master's in Creative Writing from University of Baltimore.
