Marco Gil has a diverse range of work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Marco began their career at Hovione in 2007 as an Engineer, specializing in the application of particle engineering technologies and the development of amorphous products and solid dispersions. Marco was subsequently promoted to Senior Engineer and then to Director of R&D Process Chemistry, where they were responsible for overseeing research and development in process chemistry.
In 2015, Marco became the General Manager of Hovione, leading the site in delivering P&L targets and implementing the long-term strategy for the site within the company's network. Marco prioritized customer experience and maintained high-quality standards in compliance with cGMP and EHS regulations. Marco also developed close relationships with customers and the sales team to ensure the site addressed market needs.

Prior to joining Hovione, Marco worked as an Assistant Professor at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Centro Regional do Porto from 2005 to 2006 and at the Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo from 2004 to 2006.
