Ritu Shrestha

Ritu Shrestha is an accomplished professional in the field of biomedical research, currently serving as the Director of IOL Biomedical Research at HOYA Surgical Optics since February 2022. Prior experience includes various leadership roles at RxSight, Inc., where Ritu held positions such as Director of Chemistry R&D and Pilot Line, and Associate Director of Chemical Sciences and Engineering. Ritu's expertise spans the design and development of advanced lens materials, novel monomers, and anti-microbial agents, along with research contributions in ocular device comfort. Ritu's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Organic/Polymer Chemistry from Washington University in Saint Louis, supplemented by a foundational education in Chemistry and Mathematics from Salem College.
