Geoff Mcknight

Geoff McKnight's work experience includes roles at HRL Laboratories, LLC and the University of California - Los Angeles. Geoff started their career at HRL Laboratories in 2002 as a Member of Technical Staff in the Sensors and Materials Laboratory. Geoff then progressed to become the Manager of the Active Materials and Adaptive Structures Department in April 2007. From September 2018 to March 2023, Geoff served as the Director of the Materials and Microsystems Laboratory. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of the Materials and Microsystems Laboratory, starting in July 2022. Prior to HRL Laboratories, Geoff worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and Post Doc at the University of California - Los Angeles from October 1998 to June 2002.

Geoff McKnight obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Penn State University, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Subsequently, they pursued a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Structural and Solid Mechanics at UCLA, from 1998 to 2002.
