David Schmader

David Schmader is an accomplished artist and teacher with extensive experience in writing and performance. Since 2006, David has served as an artist and teacher at Richard Hugo House. Prior roles include serving as Senior Editor at Leafly from June 2017 to October 2018 and Associate Editor at The Stranger from May 1999 to December 2014. David has also contributed as a guest teacher at Whitman College and Cornish College of the Arts in 2013. Prior to these roles, David performed with Showbox Inc from 2005 to 2006. Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, obtained between 1987 and 1991, David combines artistic talent with a strong background in education and editorial work.
