Martha Silano is an accomplished English instructor with extensive experience in teaching literature, composition, and creative writing. Currently, Martha serves as a Lecturer II at Bellevue College since January 2005, incorporating themes such as food sustainability into composition classes. Additionally, Martha instructs at Hugo House and is a Poet in the Schools with the Skagit River Poetry Association. Previous teaching roles include fourteen years at Edmonds Community College, where Martha received a Teacher of the Year award in 1997, and poetry instruction with Writers in the Schools. Martha holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Washington and a Bachelor's degree in English from Grinnell College.
