Hal Miller-Jacobs has a diverse work experience in the field of usability and human factors engineering. Hal started their career as an Associate at Dunlap & Associates in 1966. Then, they worked as a Human Factors Engineer at the Mitre Corporation from 1981 to 1987. After that, they joined TASC - The Analytic Sciences Corp as an Engineering Psychologist and a Human Factors Engineer from 1987 to 1995. Following this, Hal worked at TASC as a Human Factors Engineer until they started their own company, Usability Coach, in 1995. At Usability Coach, they served as the Project Director and Managing Director, opening the Boston area office for Human Factors International (HFI), until 2008. Hal also worked as a Principal Usability Coach at Usability Coach and as a Usability Coach at SPARK Experience Design and Usability.org. Hal has extensive experience in teaching usability courses and consulting in various industries. Hal is particularly experienced in healthcare, financial, insurance, government, and pharmaceutical sectors.
Hal Miller-Jacobs pursued their education at Tufts University from 1966 to 1976. During this time, they obtained both a Master's and a Ph.D. degree in Experimental Psychology and Human Factors.
