Maarten Immink is the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Motor Learning and Development at Human Kinetics since June 2021, focusing on publishing peer-reviewed research related to movement skill acquisition across the lifespan. Concurrently, Maarten serves as an Associate Professor at Flinders University and has previously held the positions of Senior Lecturer and Lecturer in Movement Neuroscience at the University of South Australia from June 2008 to January 2021. Research interests include factors in motor learning and mind-body medicine, with teaching focuses on motor learning, control, and neurorehabilitation. Past roles include Program Director of Human Movement at UniSA and a teacher in yoga and meditation. Maarten earned a PhD in Motor Neuroscience from Texas A&M University between 1995 and 1999.
