Robert Hariri, MD, PhD

Co-founder & Vice Chairman at Human Longevity

Robert Hariri, MD, PhD has a diverse and impressive work experience. Robert is currently serving as an Adjunct Professor of Neurosurgery at the Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

In 2016, Hariri became the Chairman and CEO of Celularity, a spinout of Celgene Cellular Therapeutics, Human Longevity, Inc., and Sorrento Therapeutics focused on cellular medicine and functional regeneration.

Prior to that, they were Co-founder and Vice Chairman of Human Longevity starting in 2014. Robert held this position for several years, and during that time, they also served as a Co-founder and Vice Chairman of the company.

From 2011 to the present, Hariri has been the Executive Chairman of MYOS Corporation, and they have been a member of the Board of Trustees at Liberty Science Center since 2010.

In addition to their medical and scientific endeavors, Hariri has also founded Jet-A Aviation in 2007.

Furthermore, they have served in various positions in the New York Army Guard, including the role of Captain, 244th Medical, from 2009 to 2017. Robert was also a member of the Commission for Cancer Research for the State of New Jersey from 2011 to 2021.

In 2014, Hariri joined the Board of Directors of the J. Craig Venter Institute and was a member until 2016.

Lastly, Hariri held multiple roles at Celgene starting in 2002, including Chairman and Founder of the Cellular Therapeutics Division. Robert also served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Cellular Therapeutics Division from 2005 to 2013.

Robert Hariri, MD, PhD has a diverse education history. Robert attended Columbia University from 1976 to 1980, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) degree in Biological Anthropology. Robert continued their education at Cornell University from 1982 to 1987 and earned a combined Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.

In 2008, Robert Hariri attended the U.S. Air Force Squadron Leadership School, where they received a certificate in Tactics. Additionally, they hold certifications as an Open Water Scuba Instructor obtained in July 1979 from NAUI Worldwide and as a Commercial, Instrument, Multi-engine, Jet-rated pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
