Azwar Shakeel

Azwar Shakeel is an experienced legal professional and columnist currently serving as an Associate at RIAA Barker Gillette Global Alliance and as a Fakhruddin G Ebrahim Fellow at the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. Additionally, Azwar is a Barrister with the Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn and has contributed as a columnist for various publications including Dawn and Toronto Star since January 2022. Previous roles include Associate at FGE Ebrahim Hosain and Legal Secretary at BPP Law Society. Azwar has also gained valuable experience as a pro bono legal associate at North Kensington Law Centre and as a volunteer with the StreetLaw Advocacy Network. Academic qualifications include Bar Vocational Studies from City, University of London, a GDL in Law from BPP Law School, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley.
