Deborah Brown

Deborah Brown is an experienced professional in technology and human rights advocacy, currently serving as the Deputy Director for Technology and Human Rights at Human Rights Watch since January 2020, where previous roles included Interim Associate Director and Senior Researcher. Prior experience includes leading global policy advocacy at the Association for Progressive Communications and serving as a Senior Policy Analyst at Access Now. Deborah began their career with roles at the United Nations Foundation, National Democratic Institute, and The International Foundation for Electoral Systems. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Democracy and Governance/Arab Studies from Georgetown University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Human Rights from Barnard College.
