Josias M.

Josias M. has extensive work experience in the financial accounting field. Josias is currently serving as the Finance Director at HSRC (Human Sciences Research Council) since January 2022. Before this, they worked at the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, where they held the roles of Acting Director: Financial Accounting and Manager: Financial Accounting Services from April 2019 to December 2021. Prior to that, they worked at the Department of Social Development as an Assistant Director: Financial Accounting from July 2011 to December 2014 and as a Senior State Accountant from June 2010 to June 2011. Josias started their career at the Department of Health as a State Accountant from June 2006 to June 2010.

Josias M. has a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Venda. Josias also pursued further education at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, where they obtained Honors in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration - MBA. Additionally, they have a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting (Public Sector) from the University of Cape Town. Josias M. holds a certification as a Professional Accountant (SA) from SAIPA - South African Institute of Professional Accountants, which they obtained in 2016. Josias also completed an Advanced Management Programme in Management from the University of the Free State.
