Arthur Hailand III has a diverse work experience in various industries. Arthur started their career as Counsel for Environmental Programs at the New York City Department of Planning in 1979. Arthur then served as General Counsel for Mississippi Valley Airlines from 1982 to 1985. Hailand then transitioned to the education sector, working as the National Development Director at Lake Forest College from 1997 to 2002, where they played a significant role in a $65 million comprehensive campaign. Hailand joined the St. Louis Area Chapter American Red Cross in 2002 and held various positions, including Senior Development Officer, where they built relationships and conducted training sessions to enhance fundraising practices. Arthur also served as the Executive Officer of Financial Development, managing a $3 million comprehensive development program. In 2013, Hailand joined Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School as a Senior Major Gifts Officer, responsible for raising $100 million for various projects. Currently, Hailand is serving as the Director of Leadership Giving and Campaigns at the Humane Society of Missouri since 2020.

Arthur Hailand III attended Lake Forest College to earn their Bachelor of Arts degree. After completing their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where they obtained their Doctor of Law degree.
