Benjamin Ackerman, CFCM, CSM

Benjamin Ackerman, CFCM, CSM has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Benjamin began their career in the United States Air Force, where they served as an Air Traffic Controller and later transitioned into the field of contracting. In the Air Force, they held various roles as a Contracting Specialist, Contracting Officer, and Master Instructor.

After leaving the military, Ackerman worked as a Contracting Officer for the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force in the Arabian Peninsula. Benjamin then served as the Contracting Superintendent/Contracting Officer for the Special Operations Command in Africa, where they provided business advice to high-level commanders on contracting solutions.

From 2012 to 2016, Ackerman pursued their passion for acting and worked as an actor for ComedySportz San Antonio. Benjamin also served as a Guest Speaker for Hosky Communications Inc.

In 2015, they joined the 4th Contracting Squadron as an NCOIC Construction Flight, overseeing small construction contracts. Benjamin later became the Section Chief of the Commodities and CE Services Branch.

In 2017, Ackerman joined the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center as the Manager of the Contracting Systems Branch. In this role, they managed Air Force contracting business systems and played a key role in developing and implementing the next generation contract writing software.

In 2020, they worked as a Contract Specialist for Aerojet Rocketdyne before joining HumanIT Solutions in 2021 as a Business Analyst. In this role, they serve as a subject matter expert for federal acquisitions and is involved in product ownership, training, functional testing, and resolving contractual conflicts.

Outside of their professional work, Ackerman has been involved in promoting motorcycle safety and organizing fundraising events for non-profit organizations as a Region 7 Lt Commander for the Texas Confederation of Clubs and Independents US Defenders.

Benjamin Ackerman, CFCM, CSM has a diverse educational background. In 2005, they obtained a Professional Certification in Contracting Level 2 from the Defense Acquisition University. Benjamin furthered their education at the Community College of the Air Force, earning an Associate's degree in Contract Management from 2001 to 2005. In 2003, they also received a Certification in Contracting Level 1 from the Defense Acquisition University.

In 2011, Benjamin pursued an Associate's degree in Instructor of Technical and Military Studies from the Community College of the Air Force and completed the program in 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Benjamin has acquired several certifications. Benjamin became a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) through the Scrum Alliance in February 2022. In 2019, they obtained the Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) designation from the National Contract Management Association (NCMA). Notably, Benjamin has received various certifications from the United States Air Force, including the Air Education and Training Command Master Instructor in October 2013, CCAF Instructor Level 2 in May 2013, and CCAF Instructor Certification Level 1 in October 2012. Benjamin also holds DAWIA/APDP certifications, having completed Level II in Contracting in June 2006 and Contracting Level I in May 2005.
