Nikolai Kovalenko's work experience begins in 1999 as a Software Engineer at R Story, where they developed applications and web-services for collecting and distributing electronic versions of Russian newspapers. Nikolai then moved on to become the Head of IT department at Direct Line Service in 2006. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Senior Developer at GZT.RU, where they developed and supported the main website and special projects. Nikolai then worked as a Web Developer for Tourprom from 2004 to 2015 as a freelancer. In 2011, they joined Web Prime Group as the Head of Web Development and Project Manager for various online media outlets. At Rambler&Co, Nikolai held multiple roles from 2015 to 2019, including Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead for various development projects. Currently, they work as a Principal Engineer at Humanitec since 2019.
Nikolai Kovalenko obtained a Master's degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics from Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, where they studied from 1994 to 2001. In 2016 to 2017, they pursued Machine Learning and Data Analysis through an online specialization program offered by Coursera. Nikolai was awarded the "Machine Learning and Data Analysis" Online Specialization certificate in May 2017. Additionally, they obtained an Interpreter certification from Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in December 1998, specializing in English to Russian translations in natural sciences. Furthermore, Nikolai acquired a Professional Cloud Developer certification from Google in February 2020.
