Derek Lohnes

Derek Lohnes is an experienced software engineering leader with a strong background in managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Huntress since May 2024, Derek previously held the position of Director of Software Development at Sonrai Security, where expertise in cloud-based microservices and agile methodologies was demonstrated. With a tenure at IBM spanning over a decade, Derek progressed through various roles including Senior Software Engineering Manager and Development Integration Lead, where responsibilities included managing HR functions, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring project objectives were met. Earlier experience includes leading development teams at Q1 Labs (IBM Security) and CARIS, focused on integration and application development. Derek holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Acadia University.
