John Hammond

John Hammond is a seasoned cybersecurity professional currently serving as Principal Security Researcher at Huntress since August 2020, after transitioning from Senior Security Researcher. Concurrently, John has established a significant presence on YouTube as a Cybersecurity Content Creator, focusing on video walkthroughs and programming tutorials while also engaging in public speaking at security conferences and universities. Previously, John contributed to the United States Department of Defense as a Cybersecurity Content Developer and Subject Matter Expert from January to July 2020 and worked as a Red Team Cyber Operator at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency in 2019. Additional roles included Curriculum Developer and Instructor at the DoD Cyber Crime Center between 2018 and 2019. John holds a degree from the US Coast Guard Academy and has completed specialized training at the SANS Technology Institute in server hardening and penetration testing.
