Shawn Flate, SPHR

Shawn Flate, SPHR has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several companies and industries. Most recently, they worked at Huntsville Utilities as the EEO Diversity Equity & Inclusion Officer since August 2022. Prior to that, they served as the HR Manager at Tenneco from February 2021 to August 2022. Before that, Shawn was the HR Manager at Molex from June 2010 to January 2021. Shawn also held the role of Assistant Manager at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC from November 2005 to June 2010. Shawn began their career at General Electric as an HR Representative from an unspecified start date to 2002. With their HR expertise and diverse experiences, Shawn has developed a strong skill set in various aspects of human resources management.

Shawn Flate, SPHR, holds a Master's degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University School of Labor and Industrial Relations, which they earned from 1997 to 1998. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Economy from Michigan State University James Madison College, graduating in 1995. In terms of additional certifications, Shawn obtained the SPHR certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in June 2011. Furthermore, they acquired certifications in "Human Resources: Using Metrics to Drive HR Strategy" and "People Analytics" from LinkedIn in December 2020 and June 2020, respectively.
