Richard Baker

Richard Baker has over 15 years of work experience in risk, compliance, and advisory roles. Their most recent position was as the Head of Risk, Audit, and Compliance at Huntswood starting in February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Technical Advisor in Advisory Services at Huntswood from June 2022 to February 2023. Richard also served as the Head of FCA Compliance & MLRO at Tesco Mobile from January 2020 to June 2022. Before that, Richard worked at the Financial Conduct Authority, where they held various positions including Team Leader in the Lending & Intermediaries Department from October 2016 to December 2019, and Manager in the Consumer Credit Authorisations division from July 2015 to July 2016. Prior to that, they held roles at the Financial Ombudsman Service as a Manager from February 2013 to February 2014, and as an Adjudicator from October 2009 to February 2013. Richard began their career as a Project Management Officer at HBOS from December 2006 to September 2007.

Richard Baker attended Aylesbury Grammar School from 1998 to 2003. Richard then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in History at the University of Reading from 2003 to 2006. Following their undergraduate studies, Richard enrolled at Oxford Brookes University from 2007 to 2008, where they obtained a Diploma in Graduate Diploma in Law. Finally, Richard attended BPP Law School in 2008 and 2009 and completed a Legal Practice Course.
