Matthew Summers, CSP, CMIOSH, BSAHS, OHST, CHST has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Matthew has held roles such as Safety Director at Hussung Mechanical Contractors, Inc. / HMC Service Company, where they currently work. Matthew also served as the Area Director for the Central Area at the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and held various leadership positions within the Louisville Chapter, including President, Vice President, and Secretary. Matthew was also the Director of Programs at Safety First Resources, LLC., providing support to the company and overseeing safety consultants for different projects. Prior to this, they worked as a Safety Manager at Berkel & Company Contractors, Inc. and as a Safety Supervisor/Field Manager at J.Y. Legner Associates. Matthew has also worked at LG&E & KU as an Onsite Safety Manager and at Evans Construction Company, Inc. as a Safety Director and Safety Intern. Additionally, they have experience as a Grounds Keeper at The Polo Fields Golf & Country Club and as an Experienced Camera Technician at the Louisville Bats.

Matthew obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Occupational Safety and Health Technology/Technician from Eastern Kentucky University from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Occupational Safety and Health Technology/Technician from Indiana University Bloomington from 2010 to 2012. Before their bachelor's degree, they earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Jefferson Community College, Kentucky between 2007 and 2010. Additionally, Matthew pursued a Bachelor's degree in Safety Management from Indiana University, but the specific time frame is unknown, as well as an Associates degree in Arts from Jefferson Community and Technical College. Matthew completed their education at Waggener Traditional High School, obtaining a diploma. Matthew Summers has also obtained various certifications, including Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist, Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Health and Safety Technologist, Associate Safety Professional, Safety Trained Supervisor (General Industry), and Construction Health and Safety Technician.
