Strategic Data Storyteller at Hutchison School

Cathy Barber has a diverse work experience spanning from 2003 to present. Cathy started as an Office Assistant at Brough & Stephens, Inc. and later worked as a Marketing Intern at Midsouth Regional Lifeblood Donor Center. Cathy then joined LeaderShape, Inc. as an On-Site Coordinator. After that, they worked at The University of Memphis as a Special Events & Communications Assistant. Following this, they started their own freelance business, providing Marketing & Communications Strategy and Blackbaud Consulting services. Since 2012, they have been working at Hutchison School, where they have held various roles, including Hutchison Leads Coordinator, Public Relations Director, and Digital Communications Manager. Cathy is currently serving as the Director of Stewardship Communications at Hutchison School. Throughout their career, Cathy has demonstrated expertise in digital communications, marketing, event management, website development, and branding.

Cathy Barber has a Master of Professional Studies in Strategic Leadership from The University of Memphis, which they obtained from 2012 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations Journalism, Spanish, and Nonprofit Management & Leadership from The University of Memphis from 2007 to 2012. Cathy also studied Spanish at Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca in 2011. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Education Management Portfolio for K-12 Core Certification from Blackbaud in 2020, Advanced InDesign Publications Training & Certification from New Horizons in 2013, and Nonprofit Management & Leadership Certification from Nonprofit Leadership Alliance in 2012.
