Herb Callahan

Herb Callahan, Ed.D., GPHR has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Herb has worked in various leadership and advisory roles in the field of Human Resources.

In recent years, Herb has served as the Human Resources Director at Hydra-Electric Company and as the Principal at HR-Lead Consulting, a full-service HR consulting firm. Herb has also worked as an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Massachusetts Global and California State University, Fullerton.

In the past, Herb has held significant HR leadership positions at companies such as The Gill Corporation, Golden State Foods, Weber Logistics, and ProCourier - California. These roles encompassed responsibilities ranging from managing HR functions, overseeing leadership training and development, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating programs to support organizational goals.

Before transitioning to the private sector, Herb gained valuable experience in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Senior Personnel Advisor/1stSgt and an Operations/Training Officer. During their time in the Marine Corps, they demonstrated expertise in HR, leadership, training, and administrative matters.

Herb's career also includes a role as an Assistant Marine Officer Instructor at UCLA, where they provided instruction and guidance to students on various aspects of leadership, management, and organizational development.

Throughout their career, Herb has showcased their expertise and dedication to the HR field, supporting organizations in managing their HR challenges and facilitating their growth and success.

Herb Callahan, Ed.D., GPHR completed their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University between 2012 and 2016. Herb also obtained an MBA-HR from Brandman University and a BS in Management from Bellevue University. Additionally, they hold an Associates degree in Information Systems from Santa Monica College.

In terms of certifications, Herb Callahan obtained the Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certification from HR Certification Institute - HRCI in 2019. Herb also holds the SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification from SHRM, obtained in December 2015. Furthermore, they obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources California Designation (SPHR-CA®) in 2012 and the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) certification in 2010, both from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI. Additionally, they hold certifications as a Practitioner from The Predictive Index and Profiles International.
