Mark Preston has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies in the chemical industry. Mark started their career in 1984 as a Technical Sales Representative, providing technical service and managing sales of production chemicals to various industries. Mark then progressed to become a Product Manager & Sales Manager and later a Sales Director at Applied Chemicals. In these roles, they managed teams and developed relationships with customers to provide unique solutions and improve profitability. Mark joined Baker Hughes in 1998 and held various positions, including Australasia Manager, Asia South Director, and Asia Pacific Group Director. In these roles, they managed operations, developed strategic plans, and improved operating results. Mark also worked at Imdex Limited as the General Manager, overseeing all aspects of operations. Mark's most recent role was as the Director of Strategy and Technology at HydroChem, where they provided leadership and vision.
Mark Preston attended the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2017, where they obtained a GAICD degree. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.App.Sc.) degree with distinction, majoring in chemical engineering at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) in 1988. Mark also holds a Diploma of Teaching from Kedron Park Teachers College.
