Alexander Laptev has over 13 years of experience in the localization industry. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as a Translator and Interpreter for OJSC Nordea Bank, where they translated between Russian and English, as well as managed internal customer relations, managed large translation projects, and distributed and controlled workloads. From 2011 to 2014, they were the Head of Translations for Eastern Europe at Societe Generale, where they translated between French, Russian, and English, as well as interpreted between Russian and English. From 2014 to 2017, they were the Localization Manager at Highland Goldmining, where they managed in-house Translation and Interpreting Teams. Since 2017, they have been the Localization Team Lead (Multimedia) at Janus Worldwide, where they distribute projects among project managers and trains new project managers. Currently, they are the Head of Localization at HypeAuditor, where they create a localization workflow from scratch, prepares glossaries and briefs for translators, and manages each step of the localization process.
Alexander Laptev has obtained three degrees and one certification. From 2003 to 2008, they earned a Master's degree in Linguistics from Saint Petersburg State University. From 2009 to 2011, they earned a Master's Degree in Global Finance from the Finance University under the Government of the Russian Federation. From 2011 to 2014, they earned a Master's Degree in Conference Interpreting from the Institute of Translation & Interpreting in England, Milton Keynes. In June 2012, they obtained a certification from the Institute of Translation & Interpreting.
