Jay Shepherd has a diverse range of work experience. Jay is currently the Director of Manufacturing at Hypercraft®, where they have been working since July 2023. Prior to this role, they served as a Production Manager/MFG Engineer at Hypercraft® from February 2023 to August 2023. Before joining Hypercraft®, Jay worked as a Technical Operations Engineer at Anduril Industries from October 2020 to December 2022. Jay also held the position of Systems Integration Engineer at General Dynamics Land Systems from November 2018 to October 2020. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Systems Integration Engineer at General Dynamics from November 2014 to February 2018, and as a Product Development Engineer Consultant at Round Remembered in April 2014. Jay also has experience as a CNC Machinist at O'Neal Steel in 2013. Jay started their professional career as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at North Carolina A&T State University, where they supported the education efforts of professors and served as a Supplemental Instructor and Lab Instructor for the Math Department and Manufacturing Processes respectively.
Jay Shepherd completed their education in various fields. In 2013, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2011, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Bluefield State University. In terms of additional certifications, Jay Shepherd obtained a Six Sigma Greenbelt certification from North Carolina A&T State University in December 2012. Jay also participated in short-term courses, such as the Additive Manufacturing for Innovative Design and Production program at MIT Professional Education in 2020 and the Business Data and Analytics Bootcamp at Snow College in the same year.
