Carl Shuker

Carl began his career at A-Plan in Oxford in 1981 and, after numerous roles in the business, was appointed as Deputy CEO in 2000 and CEO in 2008. He guided the business through two management buyouts and A-Plan Group’s acquisition by Howden in March 2021, when he was appointed to the Group Executive Committee.

Carl continues to lead A-Plan Group, which delivers corporate, SME, specialist, rural and personal lines insurance through a growing network of over 100 high street branches and specialist centers via brands including A-Plan Insurance, Assured Futures, KGM Underwriting, Endsleigh Insurance and Vast Visibility.

Carl is ACII qualified and has an MBA from Henley Management College.
