Stephen Jones has worked for four different companies since 2014. From 2014-2017, they were an undergraduate researcher at North Carolina State University. In 2015, they were an engineering intern at GE Aviation, where they generated qualification reports for aerospace composite materials, batch acceptance criteria, and statistical processing of test data, as well as root-cause investigations of anomalies discovered in fleet aircraft. Stephen returned to GE Aviation in 2016 as an engineering intern. Since 2017, they have been employed by Collier Aerospace, first as Manager of Software Development and then as an Aerospace Stress Engineer. In this role, they have performed sizing and stress analysis of composite and metallic aerospace structures under contract with aerospace partners, validated stress analysis methods via finite element analysis and test data, and automated design-analysis cycles using HyperSizer, FEA, Excel, Python, and customer-specific tools.
Stephen Jones obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from North Carolina State University between 2013 and 2017.
