James Sampson

James Sampson is an experienced senior manager with a strong background in vendor risk management, compliance, and business development. Currently serving as Senior Manager - Vendor Risk Management at Hyundai Capital America since July 2013, James established a new Vendor Management Office and enhanced the Vendor Risk Management program for over 200 key vendors. Previous roles at Hyundai included Senior Manager positions in Compliance and Business Innovation, where James led teams to implement compliance initiatives and streamline operations, saving significant operational costs. Prior to Hyundai, James held diverse positions at Innovate Washington, Avista, General Motors, Qualcomm, and HR Textron, focusing on strategic projects, alternative transportation fuels, and process improvements. James earned an MBA and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the MIT Sloan School of Management, following a BS in Manufacturing Engineering from Brigham Young University.
