Erik Benavides

Erik Benavides is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the automotive industry, currently serving as the Senior Group Manager for Enterprise IT & Vehicle Cybersecurity at Hyundai Motor America since August 2015. In this role, Erik spearheads the establishment of vehicle cybersecurity programs and oversees cybersecurity assessments for various connected services. Previously, Erik held positions at Toyota Technical Center as Engineering Manager for Electronics Systems, where the focus was on integrating vehicle and mobile app interfaces, and at Fisker Automotive as Lead Systems Engineer for Infotainment & Controls, leading the development of infotainment systems for the Fisker Karma. Erik's career also includes significant roles at Toyota North America, where leadership spanned multiple engineering positions focused on multimedia systems, and earlier experience as an Electrical Power Distribution Wiring Design Engineer at Chrysler Acustar Corporation. Erik holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University.
