Tommy, Huey Ming KOH

Tommy, Huey Ming KOH is currently the Director of Information Technology at the Singapore Institute of Management. Tommy, has been in this role since June 2016 and has been with SIM since July 2021.

Under Tommy's leadership, IT initiatives for the Group have been successfully launched and managed. This includes Student management systems, scheduling systems, web sites, CRM, Finance and HR. Tommy, has also led the commercialisation of IT services as a revenue generating operations.

Tommy has improved SLA performance and productivity rapidly with process and work re-structuring, monitoring systems, and system architectural improvements. In addition, they have significantly strengthened IT security with security system enhancements (e.g. Data Leak Prevention, MFA), policies, management framework and extensive user awareness programmes.

The adoption of a cloud-first strategy and DevOps methodology for rapid development and deployment of application projects was initiated under Tommy's leadership. In addition, the initiation of data analytics capability with data lake infrastructure build on AWS was also undertaken during their tenure.

Extensive use of Microsoft 365 platform and applications for to maximise productivity and collaboration is also something that Tommy has championed during their time as Director of Information Technology.

Tommy, Huey Ming KOH has a postgraduate diploma in business administration and management from Alliance Manchester Business School. Tommy, also has a master's degree in electrical engineering from the National University of Singapore. Additionally, they have a bachelor's degree in computer science from the National University of Singapore. Lastly, they have a Google Analytics certification from Google.
