Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst to join our dynamic product development team focused on aviation fuel management data capture. This is a growth role opportunity which will enable the candidate to develop their experience and career.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in gathering and analysing business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients in the aviation sector.

Role Overview:

The Business Analyst role at i6 is to engage with internal and external customers to bridge gaps between customer-specific requirements and product features using business analytic skills to assess processes, determine specific requirements and produce clear, concise and complete user stories ready for refinement. 

The Business Analyst works closely with the Product Owner, who is ultimately accountable for the Product roadmap, to understand the Product goals and translate these into increments of work. The Business Analyst ensures that backlogs are prioritised and that deliverables from the Product engineering team meet Product standards and quality.

Working with the Product Owner they will be accountable for the increment/sprint being developed. The Business Analyst owns the backlog, requirements, acceptance criteria, and processes ensuring that all requirements and associated artefacts are in place for a successful sprint. They ensure that the ceremonies and meetings necessary for the refinement of backlogs and delivery of the sprint are in place and are effective.

They will maintain all documentation relevant to requirements including, but not limited to wireframes, process flows, and user journeys, as well as ensuring that the backlog is up to date and prioritised.

Through their conversations and output, they will demonstrate business and product domain knowledge and build confidence in their Stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, clients, and end-users, to elicit, analyse, document, and prioritise business requirements related to aviation fuel management data capture.

  2. Process Analysis: Evaluate existing fuel management processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimization through software solutions.

  3. Solution Design: Work closely with software architects and developers to translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, user stories, and functional requirements.

  4. Data Modelilng: Define data requirements and assist in the design of data models, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of aviation fuel management data capture and storage.

  5. Testing Support: Collaborate with quality assurance teams to develop test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria, ensuring that software solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.

  6. User Training and Support: Assist in the development of user training materials and provide ongoing support to clients and end-users during software implementation and post-deployment phases.

  7. Continuous Improvement:  Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to aviation fuel management and data capture, and proactively identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation.

  8. Product Strategy Implementation: Collaborate with product management to understand and execute the product vision and strategy. Participate in the creation and maintenance of the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and market needs.

  9. Product Support and Maintenance: Serve as a key point of contact for support issues related to the product. Collaborate with the customer support and technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring a high level of user satisfaction.

  10. Support for Product Management and Customer Interaction: Act as a pivotal support to the Product Manager and the Product team by facilitating customer interactions as needed. This includes understanding customer needs, gathering feedback, and translating it

If you have the following experience then you may be the BA we need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience working as a Business Analyst in a software development environment, preferably within the SaaS industry or aviation sector.

  • Strong understanding of aviation fuel management processes, data capture requirements, and regulatory compliance standards (e.g., IATA fuel data standards).

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in supply chain processes, hands-on understanding would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of Logistics & vehicles management.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into clear and concise technical requirements.

  • Proficiency in business process modelling techniques, such as BPMN or UML.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) for software development and project management.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.

  • Proactive problem-solving attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meet client expectations and business objectives.
