Jim Sims

Director, Investor & Public Relations at IBC Advanced Alloys

Jim Sims has over three decades of work experience in various industries. Currently, they are serving as the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) at NioCorp Developments Ltd. where they are responsible for managing external communications. Jim previously held the position of Vice President, External Affairs at the same company. Prior to NioCorp, Jim worked as the Director of Investor and Public Relations at IBC Advanced Alloys, and as the Director of Corporate Communications at Neo Performance Materials.

Before entering the corporate world, they founded and served as the President and CEO of Policy Communications, a public affairs advocacy firm. Jim also worked as the Vice President of Corporate Communications at Molycorp, Inc., where they led a multi-disciplinary communications program. Jim has served in leadership roles at the Western Business Roundtable and co-founded and led the Geothermal Energy Association. Additionally, Jim has held positions at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, The White House, and WinCapitol, Inc. as a Policy Advisor, Director of Communications for the White House Energy Policy Development Group, and Founding Partner, respectively. Throughout their career, Jim has demonstrated expertise in communications, public relations, and advocacy.

Jim Sims attended Georgetown University from 1982 to 1984, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Government. Before that, from 1979 to 1981, they studied Journalism at Drake University. In addition to their educational background, they obtained a MSHA Part 48 Mine Safety Certification from the U.S. Mine Safety & Health Administration in March 2013, and a Security Clearance (Top Secret) from the United States Department of Defense in May 1989.
