Sherwin Chua

Sherwin Chua has over 20 years of work experience in various roles related to DevOps, system administration, and network management.

Sherwin started their career in 2000 as a Systems and Network Consultant at Semizone Inc, where they worked with overseas development teams. From 2004 to 2005, they were involved in research and development at Lifestyle Interactive Inc, focusing on home automation systems.

In 2006, Sherwin joined SG Vestia Systems Inc as a Systems and Network Administrator. In this role, they handled tasks such as maintaining infrastructure, implementing security measures, and troubleshooting application problems. Sherwin also worked on key projects such as implementing SAS 70 certification and upgrading the firewall.

Sherwin then moved on to Aimia Inc in 2011, where they served as a Web Applications Administrator and later as a DevOps Consultant. In these roles, they managed the company's production websites, deployed applications, and administered various tools and monitoring systems. Notable projects they worked on during this time include achieving PCI DSS Level 1 Certification and migrating web applications to Q9 Data Centre.

In 2015, Sherwin joined Sunwing Travel Group as a Senior Systems Administrator - DevOps. Sherwin held this position until 2018, where they were responsible for system administration and DevOps tasks.

In 2018, Sherwin joined Canada Guaranty Mortgage Insurance Company as a Systems Administrator. Here, they managed the company's Windows and Linux infrastructure, automated routine tasks using PowerShell and Bash scripts, and collaborated with the security team to fix system vulnerabilities. Sherwin also worked on key projects such as pushing third-party application software through GPO and upgrading WinMagic SecureDoc.

Sherwin's most recent experience is with iBlüm Learning Company, where they currently hold the position of DevOps Specialist.

Sherwin Chua holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from De La Salle University. In July 2012, they obtained the CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA. No further information is available regarding their education history.
