Reza Vafa

Reza Vafa has over two decades of work experience in the pharmacy industry. From 1997 to 2018, they worked at RITE AID as a Pharmacy Manager, overseeing all aspects of pharmacy operations and implementing strategies to increase accuracy and productivity. During this time, they also served as a Pharmacy Development Manager, contributing to the growth and development of the pharmacy department.

From 2008 to 2018, Reza worked at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy as a Clinical Assistant Professor Preceptor, where they played a role in teaching and mentoring pharmacy students.

In 2018, Reza joined Walgreens as a Pharmacy Manager, where they supervised pharmacy operations, managed staffing and training, and coordinated outreach events. Reza also conducted medication therapy reviews and ensured proper documentation and follow-up on various platforms.

Most recently, since 2020, Reza has been working at IBSS as a Program Manager. In this role, they provide customized support for value-based care initiatives and utilizes prescription drug data and medical information to develop programs aligned with quality goals. Reza also manages project teams, analyzes and manages project risk, and ensures customer satisfaction.

Reza Vafa completed a Doctor of Pharmacy - PharmD degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences from Azad University (IAU) between 1988 and 1994. Reza Vafa also obtained several additional certifications throughout their career, including Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in December 2022, pharmacist certification from the State of Delaware in November 2022, EQuIPP certification from Pharmacy Quality Solutions, Inc. in July 2015, Medication Therapy Management (MTM) certification from OutcomesMTM, a Cardinal Health company, in July 2014, Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certification from APhA Foundation in June 2006, pharmacist certification from the Maryland Department of Health in August 1997, and Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee Certification (FPGEC) from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy in March 1997. Additionally, Reza Vafa holds an American Heart Association - Heartsaver CPR and AED (Adult, Child, Infant) certification.
