Camellia Blackwell is an experienced Executive Director, Fine Artist, and Art Educator with a career spanning several decades. Since June 1997, Camellia has owned and operated Camellia's Art Studio & Gallery at Historic Savage Mill, offering fine art, custom framing, and various art classes for both children and adults. Prior to this role, Camellia served as an Art Specialist at Montgomery County Public Schools from 1990 to 2004, teaching high school and elementary art classes while receiving numerous grants and awards. Camellia's professional journey includes a position as Publications Officer at the Smithsonian Institution-National Museum of American History from 1984 to 1988, managing publication design and budgets. Camellia holds a Ph.D. in Art Education and Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Maryland, an M.F.A. in Art Education from the Maryland Institute College of Art, and a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from Morgan State University.
