Alan Thompson is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in the fields of space systems and radar technology. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer and Vice President of Space Systems at ICEYE since September 2020, Alan has held multiple leadership roles focused on spacecraft engineering and systems architecture. Prior to this, Alan spent over two decades at MDA, where significant contributions included serving as Chief Systems Engineer for the RADARSAT Constellation Mission and involvement in SAR systems analysis and image quality calibration. Alan’s academic background includes a Visiting Professor position at the University of Toronto, specializing in imaging and integral geometry, as well as a postdoctoral fellowship at the same institution. Alan holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.Sc. with Honours in Mathematics and Computer Science from Queen's University.
