Riccardo Bertini is a PhD candidate at ICFO since September 2021, participating in the Marie Skłodowska-Curie-COFUND action under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program, focusing on quantum nano-optoelectronics and light-matter interaction in moiré materials. Additionally, Riccardo serves as a Laboratory Teaching Assistant at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and completed a short-term position as a visiting PhD student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the supervision of Professor Pablo Jarillo-Herrero, studying the electronic properties of next-generation 2D moiré materials. Previously, Riccardo held a research fellowship at Università di Pisa, concentrating on coupling between intersubband excitations and 2D graphene plasmons, and completed a Master’s degree in Physics with a thesis on controlling critical coupling in graphene-based microcavities. Riccardo holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Università di Pisa and a diploma from Liceo Scientifico E. Fermi.
