Sekar Ramachandran

Senior Scientist at Ichor Life Sciences

Sekar Ramachandran is currently a Project Manager/Senior Scientist at Ichor Therapeutics, Inc. (2021). Sekar is also a Research Assistant Professor at Clarkson University (2021). Additionally, they are a Visiting Scientist at Cornell University (2021). Prior to this, they were a Senior Research Associate and Research Associate at Cornell University (2002). In their role as Senior Research Associate, they carried out research to understand the structural basis of the mechanisms of activation of heterotrimeric G-proteins by their cognate G-protein coupled receptors, utilizing the vertebrate visual transduction pathway as a model system. Sekar was also able to obtain a stable complex of the GPCR, rhodopsin, and the G-protein, transducin.

Sekar Ramachandran obtained their Ph.D from the National Centre for Biological Sciences in Biochemistry and Biophysics. Sekar also holds an M.Sc from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in Biotechnology, as well as a B.Sc. (Honors) from the University of Delhi in Chemistry.
