James Miskel has a strong background in general management, particularly in the laboratory and early phase services sector. James started their career at The Aerospace Corporation as an Associate Member of Technical Staff before moving to McKinsey & Company, where they worked as a Business Analyst and later as an Engagement Manager. James then worked as a Management Consultant before joining Wyeth Pharmaceuticals as an Assistant Vice President of Strategy & Business Planning. Miskel then held roles at MDS Pharma Services as Vice President of Early Clinical Research and at Harlan Laboratories, Inc. as Global Vice President of Operations, Research Models, and Services. After working as a self-employed Interim Executive and Management Consultant, they joined ICON plc as Executive Vice President of ICON Central Laboratories, ICON Laboratory Services, and ICON Laboratory and Early Phase Services. James subsequently became the President of ICON Laboratory and Early Phase Services and currently holds the role of President of ICON Laboratory and Imaging Services. Throughout their career, they have been involved in various board directorships, including at ICON Laboratory Services Inc., MolecularMD Corp., and BioTel Research LLC.
James Miskel has an extensive education history. James began their academic journey by earning a High School Diploma from Mount Hebron High School in 1989. James then pursued higher education at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics, graduating in 1993. James continued their education at MIT and completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering during 1993-1994. Seeking further expertise, they attended The Lauder Institute - University of Pennsylvania from 1996 to 1998, earning a Master of Arts (MA) in International Studies. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Strategy and Operations from The Wharton School in the same time frame (1996-1998).
